A Birthday Party for Leo Tolstoy
August 28, 1828 ushered in one of the most famous homeschoolers into the world.
Leo Tolstoy was born in Russia to aristocratic parents, Countess Mariya Volkonskaya and Count Nikolai Ilyich Tolstoy. Leo was homeschooled until he until age 16, when he began studying law and oriental languages at Kazan University.
Two of his most famous books are War and Peace and Anna Karenina.
